Meeting of the Europol Information System Supervisory Bodies Decision on the creation of the European Police Office (Latvia joined Europol on 2 September 2004) It monitors Europol’s activities and ensure that there is no violation of the rights of individuals in the storage, processing and use of data at Europol’s disposal. One of the ways in which this basic task is being carried out is checking of Europol’s work.
Meeting of the Appeals Committee of the Joint Supervisory Body of Europol Article 24 of the Europol Convention In accordance with the Europol Convention, the Appeals Committee of the Joint Supervisory Body of Europol is responsible for reviewing Europol’s appeal decisions through all appropriate means.
Meeting of the Joint Customs Information System Supervisory Authorities Article 18 of the Customs Convention Supervises the Customs Information System (CIS) by ensuring that the use and processing of personal data entered into the CIS does not violate the data subject’s right to data protection
Meeting of the Joint Supervisory Body of the Schengen Information System Independent body in which representatives of national data protection authorities operate as defined in the 1990 Convention on the Implementation of the Schengen Agreement of 1985 (Article 114 (1)) Carry out an independent control of the Schengen Information System database and verify that the processing and use of data entered in the Schengen Information System is not contrary to the rights of the person concerned.
Directive 95/46 / EC Article 29 Working Party The Working Party was set up under Article 29 of Directive 95/46 / EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, which established a Working Party on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data. The Working Party shall be composed of a representative of the supervisory authority or authorities designated by each Member State and a representative of the institution or authorities established by the Community institutions and bodies and a representative of the Commission. The Working Party addresses issues related to data protection in the context of the European Union’s data protection authorities.
Consultative Committee of the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Individuals with Regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data The functions of the Advisory Committee are set out in Article 19 of the Convention. The main task is to make proposals to promote or improve the implementation of this Convention.
